Boomkat Product Review:
Superb outing of unspooled, minimalist psychedelic rock (with no guitars!), prismatic avant-jazz and all-round textural exploration from the mysterious Tetras, with shades of This Heat, Sun Ra and electric-era Miles Davis. Comprised of four extended improvisations, this is an album to lose yourself in entirely – each movement’s 20 minutes fly by, with a rhythmic momentum that splits the difference between Can and Tortoise, pushed along by insistent double-bass pluckage and rising Niblock-esque drones. This really is one of the most accomplished and original debuts we’ve heard in a long time, and pulls off the rare feat of being both eminently accessible and intellectually nourishing. Well worth a sniff!
