Boomkat Product Review:
“Paradise” is taken from 'Rubberband', the 'Lost; Miles Davis album
"It was recorded as soon as he signed to Warner Bros., after decades with Columbia. It marked a radical departure for Davis, looking forward as usual and incorporating funk and soul grooves in his work. Produced by Davis, Randy Hall and Zane Giles, the Rubberband sessions were recorded in Los Angeles from October 1985 to January 1986 – the album was subsequently shelved and Davis went on to record Tutu instead, leaving these sessions largely unheard … until now.
The original producers have teamed up with Miles’s nephew, Vince Wilburn, Jr. (who played the drums on the original recordings) to complete the album, now readied for release globally on 6 September. New guest appearances by renowned soul singers 12-time Grammy nominee Ledisi and Lalah Hathaway are just a couple of the thrilling surprises that are woven throughout the recording, which stands as another testament to the cross-generational genius of Miles Davis."
