Boomkat Product Review:
Ostgut Ton label boss and Panorama Bar resident Nick Höppner tasks himself with curating the 4th edition of the label's House-wise mix CDs. It's a cool-handed blend of Deep House and modern Disco building smoothly and surely with the sort of elegance and instinct you'd probably expect from a guy with such credentials. At the front end, rolling, whirring House grooves from Jon McMillon, Fabrizio Mammarella, Matthew Styles and Chateau Flight seep into a warm, shuffling vibe with moves by DJ Gregory and The Mol. A convective Detroit spirit and sleek German minimalism carries through the mid section with grooves like Carsten Jost's 'Divide Et Impera' to Gary Martin's 'Pimping People In High Places' through Dez Williams' synth-driven roller 'Emotional Blackmail' and Dexter's exclusive ace 'X7D', with a final flourish of authentic motor city soul from Scott Grooves and DJ Andrés.
