Boomkat Product Review:
New name to us, 51717, and we're guessing most others, makes a curious debut on Opal Tapes' third batch of ferric oddity. We can't tell you anything about the artist, but the music is a creepy blend of darkwave sludge-pop, disintegrating industrial drums and sci-fi drone; the good stuff. Imagine if HTRK and Vindictarix got müllered in the eMMplekz pillbox and you're at the right interzone. Vocals struggle out the murk against depressed dub rhythms and phosphorescing drones; non-linear FX disturb the atmosphere and thrubbing house beats appear, caked in fuzz and leading into blind darkness where nymphy, erotical spectres beckon your hand and to look them in the eye, undress them… oh right, this is the sleazebag Huerco S remix. It's another ace, recommended!
