Boomkat Product Review:
Wistful electronica and ecstatic post (noise) rock for dancefloors, fresh from the head of Forrests more than two years after their 'Wilder' LP for Blast First Petite.
With a grand sound more accomplished than their small catalogue would suggest, Forrests' 2nd release is the kind of thing you could imagine GY!BE dancing to, heads down and shuffling around their handbags.
'Teeth' swells up first with splintered drums, windswept voices and washed out harmonics gradually resolving to a chuggy, psychedelic apex - taps aff and Corbyn vest firmly on - whilst the tempestuous 'Sleeper' hammers out a more direct, equally epic number for the Blanck Mass fans on the flipside.
However, the other two tracks display a more tender, lonely side, with the gauzy, rustling mechanics and floating chords of 'Engines' and the ecclesiastical air of 'Organs' recalling elements of that ace Dialect album on 1080p.
