"Ariel Zetina is a Chicago based artist whose music can be considered techno, she takes inspiration from Chicago house, Belizean genres punta and brukdown, and the queer club scene worldwide. Even when her work explores the dark, abrasive, and traumatic, Ariel Zetina’s goal is to make you dance.
The title of the EP, Organism is both referring to a real life organism but also plays on the word "orgasm, which further illustrates this idea. Four dance floor filled tracks such as, “Miss The Sea” represents her separation from the ocean (The Atlantic ocean of where Ariel grew up in Florida, and the Caribbean Sea from her family in Belize) as well as the ancestral separation. Putamaria (with Chicago based artist MORENXXX) is a re-interpretation of catcalls and the literal noise that is the result of male dominated supremacy worldwide. Water Nymph is more about this virgin/whore complex expected for trans women (and all women); men wanting a nymphomaniac in the bedroom but the world wanting trans women to be sexless creatures. Big sounds of acid house and techno kick drums fill this entire release."
