Boomkat Product Review:
Crooked, curious machine music from the home of such stuff - Where To Now? - courtesy of James Tranmer, who's best known as member of Upset! The Rhythm's Pheromoans and The Sticks.
Working outside of lo-fi, avant-pop parameters he proves a dab hand at creating nervy machine rhythms matched by fluent, almost jazz-wise synth and box strokes to come off like some long-lost mutant from Detroit or Chicago circa '89.
They're strange, sweet and knotty little things; repetitive yet constantly morphing into new melodic wormholes and surprising with natty turn of phrase, matching the lucid oddness of SFV Acid with the dreamy states of Actress' 'RIP' phase to turn out some real gems in the restless electro of 'Copse' and 'Untings' or lysergic house goodness in 'March Of The People' and 'Ron Acid 1'.
