Boomkat Product Review:
What's going on? Two M-Plant releases in one year?? Granted, 'Minimal Nation' was a reissue, but after a seven year hiatus it's still a cause for celebration. Dutifully, it's Robert Hood at the buttons for this one, providing some purest workout gear for all the aerobic crew to work out their best boze actions. 'Obey' comes on like the gym instructor from hell, standing over your shoulder and barking out orders with a heavy Detroit accent, pummeling your ass with martial rhythm patterns and hypnotic repetitions. Feel the f**king burn. 'Resurrection' backs this up with more carefully scrutinised rhythm efficiency, making dancers shed pounds with subliminally funky shifts constructed with the intense flow and immediacy you expect from a Hood record. If his recent remix of Ben Klock was a bit too soft for you, this will break your balls like an ex-Olympic training coach. If you have any balls that is. Oh, and it's dead good too. Killer!
