Boomkat Product Review:
The dancefloor-wise alias of Belgium's Franz Baker (aka Ssaliva) gives a taste of things to come on his 2nd album for Ramp due in 2014. Up top there's the wistful, lo-slung boogie smudge of 'Everlastiv' and a sort of cracked take on stuttering, trap-style 16th note hi-hat groove swaddled in music box melody and gauzy filters. We're more inclined to the flipside's vibes; 'Through Tired Eyes' is a cool, skanking house riddim revolving ghostly notes and mesmerising lead hook and 'Tomb Face' feels out woozy, lo-slung house space somewhere between Gold Panda, Opal Tapes and Zomby styles.
