Boomkat Product Review:
More genius techno from Radio Slave this week again for the unstoppable Rekids imprint, still managing to keep it's eyes open on 'No sleep part 5'. This is some satisfaction guaranteed business here, 'K-maze' sucking you deep into a tripping techno vortex destined to carry thousands of ravers into groove induced bliss. Edwards creates sublime plumes of synth pads, here reminding of the lush constructions of Incunabula era Autechre, or even dare I say it, Ambient works 85-92, yes, it's that good! The rhythm is pure Radio Slave magic too, keeping timewith a delicious swing developed from clocked snares and a deep honed bass reminding of the recent Dettman and Klock album. 'What happened' on the flip emerges all wide eyed and fried with another groove to keep you doing the do long into the night, this time on a more pronounced dub techno tip, developing like the finest Maurizio production with perfectly placed dub chords and that stupendously innate dancefloor intuition. Goddamn it, this guy has really struck upon a prime groove with this new material, and again we have to URGE you to check it out. Prime.
