Boomkat Product Review:
Listening to this ramshackle collection of down-home rock I couldn't help but think that these guys knew their instruments a little TOO well. you know the feeling when you know that they're having fun, but usually people that play this music don't know quite what they're doing - Coach Fingers on the other hand seemed to have much more of a clear idea. It was hardly a surprise then when I discovered that it was the project of no less than three members of No Neck Blues Band - aha! The secret is finally out, these guys are veterans of the New Weird America scene and of course they can play, they can really play, so it's nice to see them trying their hand at 'real songs' for a change. It's the sort of skuzzy blues rock you'd expect to hear on cassette tape rather than released on a proper label like Locust, but that's no bad thing - in fact I think it's evidence of just how much Locust are on the ball right now. Really rather good stuff, check it.
