Boomkat Product Review:
**White vinyl 10" album housed in colour sleeve and vacuum-sealed silver bag with screen-printed artwork by Victor Robyn and T C F. Includes 15 grams of Shiu Xian (Oolong) tea and download code. Edition of 200 copies only** Ekster export the covetable digital delirium of T C F's latest opus dealing with his obsession with tea, the history of the tea trade and computational frameworks. We've said it before but we envy anyone about to encounter TCF's music for the first time, and this could hardly be a better place to jack into his binary buzz, caffeine included. As with his bobby dazzlers for YYAA and Liberation Technologies, he somehow uses a cryptic process of algorithmic number crunching to create a hi-gloss variant of contemporary electronic music that oozes feeling. In order to make this overwhelming data digestible on some level for our tiny minds, he uses the the tea trade as a narrative device, tying in his interests with the product itself via Ekster's roots in the major port city, Antwerp, and a very fine stab at simulating the Oolong's synaesthetic effects. The result is four uncannily emotive, illusive compositions of a rare and awe-inspiring quality, instilling the same sense of wonder that we'd imagine folk might have felt for an Apple advert in 1984, but transposed to The Contemporary Future of 2015.
