Boomkat Product Review:
The inimitable antipodean returns on his native imprint, Sydney's Templar Sound. Following a crisp avant-crunk session for Hum + Buzz, the 'Night Raid EP' exorcises his darker demons in deadly, ghetto-gothic fashion. 'Scanline Skin' opens the account with a lean tribalist killer, all pointillist percussion and jagged sawtooth synths arranged with a febrile control, while 'Oval Neon' resides at a thugged-out and sluggish tempo with bleak midnight pads. 'Gravity Pagoda' is ruffer, built with ruthless kamizake synth stabs strapped to brittle Grime drums before 'N.R.' drops nimble 808 triplets and frayed rave synths like some Mobb Deep instro for 2011. If you're only gonna check one, make sure it's 'Movable Fortress', a blank-eyed rave taker with heavy traces of Zomby and The Neptunes darkest moments. Regulation wares, strongly recommended!
