Boomkat Product Review:
Good work from the Clandestine Cultivations crew, presenting two debut cuts from Ultrasound and Hizzle Guy. The first release for the label since Narcossist's awesome 'Brothel Creeper' shows a defined ear for new talent, pulling up the odd machinations of Ultrasound's 'New Direction', moving with a strange 100bpm flow, the cut combines unintelligible rasta vocals over an aerodynamically challenged riddim, perhaps coming off like Mala in a wind-tunnel with Kode 9 playing a drowsy melodica line, if that helps? Just peep the sample and get your fill. On the flip, Hizzle Guy comes correct with 'Dread', a slightly more standard but no less effective dubstep joint at 140bpm. For fans of Shackleton, Mordant Music and DMZ.
