Boomkat Product Review:
With one foot in the past and one in the future, caro combines the solid bounce of a modern jack track with the hooks of a pop song. Organ-like analogue bass line, opens up classic bump to some modern mutations - Caro intones vocals in a Bam-Bam style, this stuff is tripped out, urgent and sexy and will rock your party, oh yes. Check the de rigeur Ben Nevile remix, taking its time to build from a stoney, broken beat into a serious late-night winner. Bruno Pronsato turns up the funk and the sweat on the original - punctuated by mad ripping sounds coaxed from Caro samples, with some advanced digital trickery. Beckett + Taylor of new londoner label Hand on the Plow donate a mix too - more a cover version than a remix, the duo sing and add some very neat organ riffs. Insanely funky and rootsy sounding, yet altogether approachable, think Proptronix with knobs on and you’re most of the way there.
