Boomkat Product Review:
Force Inc veteran and '90s tech house survivor Hakan Lidbo is certainly a producer of some pedigree. Through various incarnations over the years Lidbo has always been able to offer a fresh-sounding take on various electronic sub-genres, and on Dunka Dunka he shows off the full gamut of his skills, taking in micro house, electro and all-out banging techno. The stuttering, distorted mayhem of 'Shawnstooker kicks the album off, cleansing the palate nicely for the warm digital disco of 'Half Man Half Lobster'. Following on from there, 'Geekdorf' plants some new production techniques on old-school techno motifs, while 'Peepoo' is an elasticated beast of a track assembled from video game synths and the springiest beats around. Never short on ideas, Lidbo has come up with an audacious set of interdisciplinary dancefloor bombs here. Big fun, no doubt.
