Boomkat Product Review:
As the title informs you, Berlin's Moodmusic is currently celebrating a decade in existence with an enviable back-catalogue to call upon for a compilation like this. Fortunately, the Moodmusic crew haven't rested on their laurels and in addition to the classic 12" cuts brought together here, there are 10 unreleased tracks from some of the label's favourite artists. In on the party are Dave DK, Henrik Schwartz, Code E and Dirt Crew, with tracks reaching as far back as Ewan Pearson's 'Chroma' under his World Of Apples guise. There are plenty of solid productions here, Dave DK's 'Stargazer' proving a particular standout from the crop of the more recent tracks. Right at the end of the collection a moment of (presumably unintentional) comedy comes when Kiki joins compilation mixer Sasse for a vocal appearance on last year's 'Loosing Touch' (sic). Over the driving synth arpeggios Kiki's cartoonishly baritone voice propels the track into the realms of sheer absurdity, which oddly, is by no means without its charms.
