Boomkat Product Review:
New French duo Charlotte Isabelle canter onto Stroboscopic Artefacts’ Monad series with a uniquely wooden, blocky but spacious style of techno production.
Brute but tactile, the devil is in the detail on these four cuts, dancing from the itchy coconut shell claps and dry, streaking white noise of Ababa to carve out dank, gritty half step techno in the sandstone sculpture Geridoo, keeping us on our toes with roiling, Powell-esque drum patterns done to a cold industrial finish with Desba, and fishing in dark beatless zones sounding like SPK drone on Antakarana.
