Boomkat Product Review:
Grade A synthline wooze from Hyperdub's female contingent Ikonika. 'Millie' occupies the A-side with a slow swinging dubstep riddim built from comfortingly discordant layers of synth pressure alleviated by a discreet but perfectly formed music box melody hidden somewhere in the upper echelons and rising Detroit style chord progressions. 'Direct' on the flip opens with what sounds like a treated accordian line before spilling over into spools of bleeps and trickling synthlines darting in and out of the riddim, it's only at the half way point when a wickedly P-Funked synthline pops through does the whole track coalesce into quite a beautiful cut and roll off to the horizon on a well cushioned bass. This is pretty wild stuff that fans of Joker/Rustie should be getting a sniff on.
