Boomkat Product Review:
Sub-heavy, technoid house deviations from Italy via Nonplus Records. On four tracks, a side-a-piece, Federico Maccherone applies the slick arrangements of his other project, Clockwork, to a more roguish, sci-fi styled palette of pads and shifty rhythms as Somne. The 1st plate opens his account with wide open pads and billowing subs in the jagged house shuffle of 'Millenium', and buoyant, 100bpm techno in 'Treppendorf'. The 2nd plate yields deeper, tuffer styles with the deft yet hulking movement and Alberich-like synth arrangement of 'Tank', and the hydraulic pound of 'Nearer'.
