Boomkat Product Review:
The Brooklynite better known as Meadowlands dives into the murkiest end of the lo-fi techno pool with his debut M/M release. All four tracks on 'Midtown Direct' sound like they were recorded through to a dictaphone through a pillow and, which, believe it or not, lends it a desirably f**ked and squashy effect. 'Léger' is new age ambient techno struggling through clogged filter, and '8 Dub' steps on through thickets of heat-warped and scrabbling electronics like the missing link between Ekoplekz and Ital. 'Renzo' sounds like acid house on a life support machine, and Souterraine' offers the strongest dancefloor kicks with its padded bass and squirrelly tronics.
