Boomkat Product Review:
Having scratched the head for a full 15 minutes trying to figure out how to best describe this album from Planet-Mu affiliate and now Ghostly International pop star Dykehouse, the best we can come up with is a reference point that has Ulrich Schnauss and the shoegazing revival at one end and baggy Madchester posturing at the other (think Cale-produced Happy Mondays for an idea). Despite having been recorded entirely in Michael Dykehouse's bedroom, the album has a full-band sound, peaking from lo-fi strumming to hi-fidelity over production. It's a straight indie pop album that's undoubtedly had a lot of work and a lot of love poured into it. We just havent decided if its a work of genius or complete pants. Give us some time, or decide for yourself. Let us know, ok?
