Boomkat Product Review:
Handsome sophomore album of Norwegian disco bubblers and lysergic funk from erstwhile Studio bod, Dan Lissvik in trippy solo mode.
So Called Midnight because that was when he started recording each night, after his wife and newborn bairn went to bed, the album unfurls a lustrous, joyful suite of disco plays between the organ riding M, thru the camp canter of D, to moonlit sway in N, and brooding proggy vibes in I, before turning downtempo with Balearic budger, G and curiously Japanese-sounding funk of H, with a marvellous pop flourish in the closing T making great use of percolated synth voices in place of actual vocals.
