Boomkat Product Review:
Detroit cranks, Nate Young (Wolf Eyes) and David Shettler, reprise Moon Pool And Dead Band flanked by remixes from JTC, Ectomorph's BMG, Michael Dykehouse, and Nate Young himself.
The "dirty dystopian analog techno-funk" of Shettler & Young's original 'MEQ' operates at the edge of the 'floor with frazzled electronics and toiling pulses urging a slompy, atonal jack which inspires the remixers to do much the same. Ghostly International's Dykehouse turns in a percolated noise house version; Patrick Russell dries it out an bumps with extra subs; JTC gives a crisper acid buck with a flourish of Hood-style chords; BMG resets to an oily, brooding electro pulse; Nate Young wrecks the joint with distended bass spillage and squirming electronics.
