Boomkat Product Review:
A gentle blast from the past courtesy of Sheffield's Kevin Bacon and Jonathan Quarmby aka Manna. This was originally released in 1995 on the R&S sublabel Apollo, their outlet for more esoteric and ambient inclined productions. Bacon & Quimby preffered a live and intuitive production method, often playing their array of vintage synthsizers and 70's hi-fi processors in an improvisational setting. Uncannily, tracks like 'The Secret Life Of Bass' remind of the recent Moritz Trio set with a blend of ambient electronics and burbling electronic rhythms with a nod to Krautrock, while 'Eat It Weave It & Wear It' harks back to classic Global Communications trips and the extended 'Transport Of Delight' will appeal to fans of The Orb's golden era.
