Boomkat Product Review:
As anyone who has heard the forthcoming Coldcut album will know, the elder-statesmen of 'dance' have certainly retained their genre-busting outlook; with 'Sound Mirrors' sounding more like a compilation than a coherent LP. Nonetheless, 'Man In A Garage' happens to be one of its strongest joints; dovetailing the 21st Century blues of Accidental's John Matthias with Coldcut's intricate digital machinations. The result? Somewhere between Kid A and a non-laconic Beck we reckon. Pulling in the favours on remix duty, 'Man In A Garage' is given a disparate once over by Snap Ant, Daedelus, Bonobo and Lemon Jelly - the best of the bunch being either Daedelus' Vitamin C gumbo or Snap Ant's oddly addictive cover (think Talking Heads sharing a stage with Bowie and PiL...).
