Boomkat Product Review:
Strong session for Black Acre's increasingly ace 1000names duo, distilling their slo-mo boogie on five supremely sticky grooves for Svetlana. The pace rarely troubles the 110bpm barrier but that's not to say there's still tonnes of propulsive motion at work; their deeply compressed and condensed flows are bristling with energy. From the top 'La Boheme' locks into a pyroclastic dub disco flow reminding of vintage E.M.A.K. productions, before 'Planet Video' traps your booty in a classy triplet clasp and 'Machine City' again looks to vintage Teutonic electro for inspiration. Most impressive of all is the cinematic impact of 'First Postcard From Tokyo', a must-check for fans of Boxcutter, Samiyam or Flying Lotus.
