Love's Temporary Occurrence
Multi-instrumentalist, composer and improvisor Sam Wenc’s Post Moves project has made distinctive meditations for the pedal steel guitar with minimalist foundations for texture and rhythm.
"Broadening the palette in introducing vibraphone, piano, violin, drums to this new work, the compelling Love’s Temporary Occurrence flows with the force and freeing momentum of ’70s spiritual jazz and the mesmeric undertow of The Necks, rising to an astral plane as it turns on its avant-garde movements.
“The best kinds of films or books create a believable character. We trust their presence and give ourselves over to their evolution – what they have to show us. They stick around long enough for that trust to be established. And even when they turn, or show another face, we still trust that it was a necessary moment, a necessary change. I think of sound in this way.” Post Moves
