Carlos Niño and his Build An Ark ensemble have more affections to share with an addendum to 2009's astral beauty 'Love Part 1'. Regrouping some of LA's finest musicians, including Fly Lo harpist Rebekah Raff, multi instrumentalist and arranger Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, plus vocalists Mia Doi Todd, Gaby Hernandez and Dwight Trible (among many, many others), we're elevated to a more spiritual plain, learning from the Astral jazz of Alice Coltrane and a collective lushness attempting to impart a level of peace upon the world. When Atwood-Ferguson and Carlos Niño work together the results are almost guaranteed to be gorgeous and this is no exception from epic gong reverbs in 'Nature' to the swooning sitars of 'Ginger', 'Say Yes's psyche-folk dream state or the drum communications of Tony Austin's 'Cadence Of The Love Messengers'. Perhaps most beautiful of all, are the two improvisations featuring different arrangements of players but similarly unique in their soul-foraging inquisition and intuitive nature. Lush.
