Boomkat Product Review:
An exceedingly silly artist name if ever there was one, though you can't help but feel an inverted comma at the beginning would really finish the job ('kingbastard just opens up a whole new avenue of awful). Having said that, here's someone who really needn't get any further bogged down in the confusing world of creative punctuation: just look at all those square brackets littering the tracklist - and can someone introduce this fellow to the spacebar? However, any such presentational gripes are instantly made sense of once you get your ears around tracks like '[theoctoberlighthouse]' - turns out this is an IDM record. Hang on though, over the course of six tracks the conventional IDM vocabulary of muffled, melodic synths and bitcrushed drums is updated by luscious field recordings, a few abstract textures and, in the shape of the final piece, '[luctisonoisman]' a grand old piece of cinematic string-laden sentimentality. 'king brilliant.
