Boomkat Product Review:
We all know Bill Callahan as a prolific singer-songwriter, but with this latest project, the former Smog man turns his hand to writing fiction.
Letters To Emma Bowlcut is an epistolary novella, though the author himself bills it more floridly as "an epic poem in the form of letters" - something he's been working on for a number of years. Callahan has always been one of the more commanding lyricists of his generation, so it's probably reasonable to expect any prose the man produces to be very much worthwhile. Alas, Boomkat review timeframes don't really permit the reading of novellas, so I can only relay a few facts and the odd piece of speculation, but it's safe to say that this isn't something Callahan fans will want to miss.
