Boomkat Product Review:
Giggs is genuinely one of the scariest voices we've ever heard in UK hiphop, or Street rap as it's become known. His nonchalant drawl has featured on recent albums from Wiley and Skepta and can currently be heard oozing out of a thousand car stereos in London and beyond. 'Let Em Ave It' is his first major release, landing on XL after building a rep with his SN1 posse via a stream of mixtapes and the well received debut 'A Walk In The Park'. He could be considered as the inverse of London's more common Grime style with his slow and menacing articulations, but he still shares the same problems with the repressive Operation Trident due to a conviction for Gun possession. Highlights from 'Let Em Ave It' include the fierce gangsta lean of 'Matic', 'What More Do They Want's bellicose slowfast thrills, the dark crunk synth swagger of 'Hustle On' or the Bangladesh-esque beat of the taunting 'Ner Ner'.
