Casting us back to the heady days of minimal techno, micro-house, deep V’s and feathered mullets, ‘Leaving The Frantic’ is bound to raise a fey fist pump from those old enough to remember those days when hard techno was out the window and replaced by its well mannered Teutonic sibling. Fair to say techno has gone full circle again, and we may be waiting another 10 years for Sten’s sound to come back in vogue, but there’s still nice cuts to be found in the deeper Detroit electro inspirations of ‘From A Spire’, the melancholy sashay of ‘Asami’, and the colder, sub-heavy drive of ‘Task Force’.
