Boomkat Product Review:
Apparently Cock Rock Disco was founded in order to release a Dev/Null album. Two years on and he's delivered this mentalist opus, whose track titles are every bit as colourful as the ADD-afflicted productions they label. Take for example the nutzoid triple speed breakcore of 'Id Rather Mainline Preparation H Than Listen To Your Sh**ty, Sh**ty Music' or the impossibly mangled 'Old Extra-Wanky Break Thing'. It's not all annihilated beat programming and frenzied plugin workouts however, there are some deft sample edits and moments of loop plundering, as on 'Alien Washcloth Tumor' and the comparatively conservatively monikered 'Hiphop2', which kicks the album off in fine style. Most impressive of all is the positively orchestral flight-of-stairs-falling-down-a-flight-of-stairs epic 'Symphonies of Suckness', which is the tongue-in-cheek distant cousin of Venetian Snares' Rossz Csillag Allat Szuletett. Lazer Thrash is an ideal release for anyone who like their BPM count to stay somewhere above the 300 mark.
