Boomkat Product Review:
Of all Move D's endless releases "Kunstoff" is the one release that has been deemed by many to be the definitive example of european House music fuelled and inspired by the pioneering work brought to life across the pond in Chicago.
It's the sound of House as viewed through a piquant heat-haze, the likes of ‘Soap Bubbles’ and album standout ‘In/Out’ are intensely textured compositions that take the rhythm as a flexible template onto which all manner of sonic flourishes can be mapped.
‘Kunststoff’ revels in juxtaposing the serrated grooves of ‘Nimm 2’ against the kaleidoscopic synths and carbonated beats of ‘Beyond The Machine’ – a lullaby for the silicon hearted. Overflowing with the warm fuzz that's only ever generated by worn-in and much loved analogue machinery, "Kunstsoff" stands as a timeless testament to a bygone era that's often imitated but rarely executed with this much timeless appeal.
A stone cold classic.
