Boomkat Product Review:
Frank Bretschneider continues to revive his Komet alias with a typically full bodied album for Shitkatapult following last years 'P.S.T' set on False Industries. In contrast to the precipitous rhythms of his Raster Noton releases under his own name, these grooves are defined by elastic 4/4 zaps and pulses shaped with a craftsman's appreciation of the wave. Entering to the psycho-acoustic trickery of 'Subharchorded Waves' he soon introduces a magically suspended 4/4 and the agenda is set for seven tracks of hybrid hi-brow techniques and everyman groove technology. Deeper in we find highlights on the detailed spatial dynamism of 'Echotron' powered by cochlea cushioning subs and inhabited with quirksome digital gremlins, next to the overlapping offbeat techno patterns of 'Urania', the crushing subbass compressions of 'Flight 09' from the 'P.S.T' release and the deadly 'Flutter Flitter', sounding like Lukid's Glum release filtered in the Basic Channel studio and sharpened at Raster HQ. Proper heavyweight digital techno for those that know!
