Boomkat Product Review:
The second Klockworks emission from Ben Klock - and it's a total killer. This is exactly the sort of thing that will satisfy all the Minimal instincts in you without compromising on any low-end expectations, "Onyx" delivering a metallic percussive skeleton that's underpinned by all manner of panning deconstructions, sharp hi-hats and a pulsating bassline that's the best kind of low-end transmission this side of Andy Stott. "Sean" on the flip is even better - a squashed 4/4 shuffle that comes across as almost barren fast aquires a funked-up percussive template that sounds like a stripped, slowed-down Michael Jackson reduction, before the pay-off lands good and proper with another one of those endlessly deep square-basslines we just cannot resist. Mighty twelve - BUY.
