Boomkat Product Review:
Kisuné presents the new Parisian cuvée: a fourteen song compilation tasting the best of the city's new and emerging talent, selected by Kitsuné chef Gildas Loaëc and designed by "night bird / graffiti artist André". Like many, we've never heard of any of the artists included, and that's at least half of the fun! From first listens there's definitely a few to watch (if you aren't already). Tomorrow's World impress with the stoic, woozy minimal wave pop of 'So Long My Love' for Factory Floor fans, and there's a rare instance of French language (for a French label at least) on Lescop's low-slung 'La Forêt, and an exceptional example of Gallic Discopop with Birkii's twinkling 'Holy War'. Also worth your attention, the fast and light but melancholy c86 styles of Slowdance's 'Airports', the black gloss bassline of Exotica's sparse coldwave groove 'Spectrum' and La//Kvld's strangely cracked electro shimmy 'Zephyr'.
