Boomkat Product Review:
Massive movements from the underground don Capracara, remerging into the spotlight some three years after his ace acid winner for Soul Jazz 'Opal Rush', with an immensely clever disco ruler backed with a Rub 'N Tug remix, preceding his forthcoming project with Joel Martin of Quiet Village. 'King Of The Witches' is a perfectly formed disco composition, filtering elements of distant gazing Krautrock, endless Chicago discohouse rhythms, and a sound sphere from some other place into an 8 minute day trip into outer dancefloor spaces. We can pick out elements of Arthur Russel rubbing up next to Jamal Moss or the more driving end of the IDIB spectrum to create a frictionless polyrhythmic groove you'll be hard pushed to better any time soon. Rub 'N Tug turn the track into a heavy breathing sleaze monster on their remix with slowly arpeggiated Italo bass and spookily reverbed synthlines to conjure a haunted disco space you'll want to visit repeatedly. Killer single, easily one of the best things to come out on DFA in ages. Tip!
