Boomkat Product Review:
Following a strong introductory 12" on Subeena's Opit label, Kentucky's Milyoo drops four deep-fried and unclassified beats for Saigon. As anyone who peeped the 'Dasein' 12" will testify, there was simply no stable bracket for his sound, so we won't try and fix him with one. Inside the 'Kazduon EP' you'll find fluctuating shards of House and R&B wrapped with rogue acid squirms and the techiest beat science, all dynamically diffused with sweetest electronica melodies. We could easily hear the jacking title track working with your Actress or Joy Orbison tracks, while the killer 'Takedown' in tucked with proper breakbeat chops comparable with Throwing Snow. Flip it and 'Box Of Tapes' spools through ghostly sequence of slowly demented 303, etheric soul voices and slompy jack patterns, leaving 'Phonix' to sound like a deft DJ in control of three platters playing disparate yet beautifully synched grooves. Aces!
