Boomkat Product Review:
More art-house excellence courtesy of Wolfgang Voigt, the second 12" in his new series composed from the sounds of a Franz Kafka audiobook. Here we find the Profan/Kompakt boss in more melodic form than on the ruthlessly pared-down first instalment; the uplifting yet strangely blue chord drift of 2.1 is firmly in the tradition of classic tranced-out Cologne techno, albeit peppered with disorienting syllabic clusters from his unlikely source material. On 2.2, the atmospherics are somewhere between the church-like and the industrial, a domed roof of drones curving across a pumping, pellucid 4/4 pulse. Trippy and dancefloor-primed fare from the gottvater.
