Boomkat Product Review:
'June 2009' collects Chaz Bundicks' nascent productions as Toro Y Moi from a time when he had just graduated college and was getting to grips with his sampler. It's a charmingly lo-fi set of ten songs setting a fuzzy template of spangled Indie-Pop Soul, '60s Garage and deft, sparingly used electronics which would later blossom into the sound many of you know and love. Do make sure to check out the sweetened FM jangle of 'Girl Problems' and the faded Boogie beats-meets-coastal vocal harmonies on 'Drive South', or the raw but epic Synth-Pop gaze of 'Sad Arms'.
