Boomkat Product Review:
T. Williams’ Today, Tomorrow Records reach for the vintage bullets from his former label boss and grime’s sublow pioneer, Jon E Cash of Black Ops.
Effectively M.I.A. for the last decade, Cash is a bona fide grime OG with some 30 odd foundational releases to his name, including stone cold classixxx such as Kettle, Spanish Fly, and Battle.
Far as we can tell, these are all either updated or archival productions: the hard, plaggy, brassy smack of Gangster lunges in next to a duppied War Bashie version of the ’03 original on the front; flipside he turns out the formerly unreleased, Timba-esque bounce of Cash Combo and the impish grime peacockery of Sen U Rita.
