Boomkat Product Review:
This talented trio return to Rune Grammofon with another intimidatingly proficient line in wailing guitars and vaguely jazz-fusion influenced missives, opening with a great ten-minute Yoda-referencing blues-rock improv, 'Always In Motion The Future Is'. From here onwards the wailing guitar stylings of Shining member Even Helte Hermansen continue to lead the charge, doling out memorable riff constructions on 'Kill Your Jitterbug Darlings', while special guest organist, Supersilent's Stale Storlokken lays down a great melodic foil. It's not all about splenetic, blitzkrieg dynamism though, and for all the blazing fretwork and thrashing drums (from Gard Nilssen) you still find moments of quieter reflection, as on 'Too Old To Die Young' and the rather beautiful closing number 'Waltz For My Good Man'. A hugely enjoyable showcase for technique and intuitive group playing, Jitterbug comes highly recommended - especially to any of you with a bit of a soft spot for a bit of shred now and then.
