Boomkat Product Review:
Although best known for cult '70s Euro-horror faves like Grapes Of Death, Fascination and Requiem For A Vampire, French director Jean Rollin also dabbled in an altogether racier sub-strand of trash cinema. This excellent Pierre-Raph soundtrack is attached to one such Rollin film (for which he used the pseudonym Michel Gentil). Known more widely as The Schoolgirl Hitchhikers (indeed), this 1973 film features a great folk-pop theme and comes with some additional acid-rocking sequences ('Gilda & Gunshots', cut with plenty of yelping and fight noises from the film), some great pastoral acoustic sounds ('Jeunes Filles Impudiques') and a beautifully melancholic jazz variation ('Jewel Thieves'). Excellent.
