Jack's Daniel Remixes (James T. Cotton Mix)
Lordy this is gooood. Tadd Mullinx once again steps to the plate for Daniel Meteo's Kalk Pets imprint, this time under his James T Cotton guise, and in full on jackin house flow mode. His remix of Meteo's 'Pure 55" is full of blatant floor driving intent, stepping back slightly from his wilder and weirder boxjam rhythms, Mullinx uses a devilishly hypnotic techno loop to provide an anchor for his sprung reverbed and flanged strings to devastating effect, creating a full fat techno experience like nobody else, you gotta love this dude. Dandy Jack turns up in his Junction SM alias on the flip with a seriously cool and sophisticated Chicago via Berlin cut, all deep cut bass and expertly polished percussion shaped into highly evolved progressions, with a delightfully opulent pop melody and atmospheres that could only be created in Berlin. Hanno Leichtmann appears under his Vulva String Quartet pseudonym to round out this excellent 12" with a playful acid bassed groove full of tumbling percussion and a nicely optimistic vibe.
