Boomkat Product Review:
Monofonus Press spread their wings with an excellent first collection of electronic disco trips intended to "compliment both the DJ's record bag and the home listener's collection."
Sourcing from far and wide, they open with the debut collaboration of Willie Burns (WT Records) and Alessandro Adriani (Mannequin) as Interbrain, heading for the horizon with fourteen minutes of sharpened, cantering electro and epically stacked synth harmonics alongside the Hypnobeat thump of 'Charles' by Stockholm's Empfänger.
Welsh producer Samoln takes the reins flipside, curving to a cosmically slow disco tempo with the hovering organ chords and furtive arpeggios of 'Tsch'. However, they save the best for last with Idea Fire Company & BRRR's drowsy beaut, 'The Terrible Comet Salt', closing a great record with wheezing loops accompanied/juxtaposed with spellbinding monologue by Darren Harris of The Shadow Ring.
