Boomkat Product Review:
This collection has been getting praise from all corners. Not just in your regular DJ-friendly publications either, the likes of Pitchfork and Uncut have been queuing up to bestow praise on Hans-Peter Linstrom's work. It's A Feedelity Affair compiles vinyl-only singles onto CD for the first time. The expertly crafted retro-disco sound Lindstrom has carved out of the course of his singles is a sound very distinctively his, which is as accommodating to home listening as much as it is to dancefloors, with a crossover potential similar to that of Nordic compatriots, Royksopp. That's largely thanks to Lindstrom's deft ability to put together memorable melodic hooks within the template of disco. At the epicentre of this collection is the ten-minute epic, 'There's A Drink In My Bedroom'. More than a mere Moroder pastiche - it's a collage of impeccably observed, period-accurate disco conventions reworked for the 21st century. Other highlights come courtesy of the blissful bassline arpeggiations of 'I Feel Space' and the mid-tempo slinkiness of 'Music In My Mind'.
