Boomkat Product Review:
The very concept of the singer-songwriter seems like a fairly retro, old-school concept at the best of times, but Pete Molinari is in no hurry to drag the format into the 21st century. Molinari revels in the tube amps and skiffle sounds of old, prompting critics to hurl Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan comparisons his way at every available opportunity. This latest EP only confirms such notions. While two of these songs are already familiar (the Theme Time Radio Hour-baiting title track is lifted from Molinari's latest LP, A Virtual Landslide, while 'The Ghost Of Greenwich Village' is from his debut) the real reason to invest in this EP is the unreleased recording 'Ballad Of The Milk Train', which is pure Hank Williams.
