Boomkat Product Review:
Aguirre invite us to spend Quiet Evenings with the husband/wife synth duo, Grant and Rachel Evans. Respectively, both artists have amassed admirable catalogues in their solo guises, Rachel as Motion Sickness Of Time Travel and Grant as Nova Scotian Arms, and more recently as Crippling, and under his own name. When this pair work together you know it's going to be lovely. Their 'Impressions' are two extended sides each pushing over the twenty minute mark with repetitive drone loops lathering into a gracefully expanding and slow-rising cloud of ambient drift conducted with co-harmonic intuition. It's a fine feat of restraint and delicately balanced light-tones, at once spacious and richly layered, and with a vision that places their sound beyond the realms of kosmiche copy-catism.
